Gusto Hotel Pratunam (formerly Pratunam Pavilion Hotel)
Where's the smile?
Most of the staffs there couldn't even smile most of the time at their customers. The reception staffs would try to ignore you best as they could, not sure either they do it purposely or because they really can't understand English. They don't look at you when they reply to your questions, instead, they're looking at their handphones or continue chit-chatting with each other.
One thing i like was their tuk-tuk transport service and the crew. He's efficient and always smile at the hotel customers if people asked him anything. If he can't understand he'll ask others for advice before reply to you.

very good low budget hotel
After confirm the hotel I had download the trip advisor apps and verified very bad impression from some user's but in fact its not so bad.If you had stayed in pratunam area before, the hotel its not so difficult to find. most of the staff's are very friendly,except2 management Guy's. I had reserved room with breakfast but preferred take outside. After9 am most of the food already finished and the restaurant it's too small. The aircon work well .Security very good but its noisy because you can hear what's happening in the corridor. good impression

located among the busiest pratunam market
1)Taxi may not be able to drop off at the exact location bcos this newly renovated hotel is situated in a small lane.A convenient shop (about 2 metres) is just opp the hotel. This is our 2nd time to this hotel,so we told the taxi drivers to alight us at Baiyoke Sky and we walked in.The lane is always full of life with massage parlours and street hawkers.
2)If you are not particular about hygiene, the hawkers serve reasonably cheap local thai food which you can take back to eat in hotel.Hawkers will provide styloform bowls and plastic spoons.
3) There are many roadside stalls and shops selling clothes, bags and shoes. Many shopping malls around that one may not have time to venture all.
4)Hotel is generally clean and not noisy.Lifts and rooms are operated by electronic room cards so it is quite safe.We chose this place because most importantly there are connecting rooms so we can be close to our daughters.Wi Fi is also available.
5)Dislike as there is no BTS in this area.We took metred- taxi most time which is the cheapest for my family of 4 but be prepared to 'get stuck' in Bangkok jam.
6)Do not get conned by tuk-tuks waiting near hotels and offer low rates like 20-30 bahts for a ride. They will drive you to the roadside and asked you to do them a favour by visiting some souvenirs shops so they can get "free gas vouchers".If you don't mind visiting,go ahead.Otherwise, you can reject and alight the tuk-tuk,they won't get offended most times.
7) Overall,it's value for money and Hotel2thailand offers the lowest rate so far after comparison.

Good location but lousy services provided.
Noises can be heard from neighbouring rooms, even in the middle of the night. Requested for a high level room but a low level room was given instead. Left the hotel room in the morning but there was still no housekeeping done to our room when we returned at 10pm.
Most counter staffs are unhelpful except for Mr. Singh. Porters Mr. Chan and Chai were friendly and helpful too.
