Dream Holiday Spot
First arrival we got warm welcome and greetings by the gentleman receptionist who took good care of us in the whole stay and told us our room was upgraded. Nice room. Good service. Beautiful landscape with lots of open space. Tasty food. Lovely beach. The Tropicana is value to money. We definitely come back and surely recommend to our friends.

Expensive but reasonable
1) We stayed at top of the season (at New Year) so staying was rather expensive for us (200 USD per night in separate bungalow). But for this time the same situation was everywhere
2) Hotel has good big territory, good own beach that is cleaned. Should be remarked that level of water is dramatically decreasing after 17.00 (it is so not in all beach parts).
3) Location is good - 20 minutes of walking till Elephant tracking base and 30 minutes walking to the waterfall. 5 minutes walking to main road and all the facilities there (laundry, restaurants, 7/11 store etc).
From our opinion this beach (Klong Prao) is the best one for "quiet" relaxing on Ko Chang (especially comparing to Lonely beach that is definitely not the place for staying with children).
4) Hotel staff was helpful (e.g. we asked to return our motorbike to rental service - that was done without additional charge with Thai smile)
5) Breakfast was as good as it can be in Thailand - typical for Thailand
Summary: good place to stay at Ko Chang with a reasonable value for money spent (in upper price segment).

Excellent living.
Rooms and service is excellent. The location is very good. A calm and relaxing area. The pools are great.
The beach need to be improoved. There are a lot od loose sharp rocks in the sand, especially outside the waterline that risk to cut up your feet if you step on them.
